Biography

Auriel Loux, MA was born April 9, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland with her Sun and Moon in Aries and Sagitarius rising. She spent most of her childhood living near the ocean in foreign countries including Australia, Colombia, Peru, Sweden and Greece. She returned to the U.S. to finish her last year of high school in Pennsylvania before moving back to Maryland to go on to college.

As can be seen by her training and experience, she has been an avid student of holistic healing and the spiritual path since 1971. She loves her work because of the deep spiritual connection that she feels when in her healing sessions with clients and when working with groups. Her work has been as healing for her as it has been for others over the years.

Auriel’s healing work began as a candy striper in high school in 1965 which led her into nurse’s training in 1966. Disillusioned with conventional medicine, she worked with children for 6 years at J. F. Kennedy Institute, teaching them how to talk by sounding the vowels for hours on end with them (little did she know that she was doing sound healing). And they did learn to talk!

She began doing massage therapy back in 1971 when there were no massage schools as yet. In 1980, she began her full-time private healing practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico. As she continued her trainings over the years, her practice grew to include bodywork, sound healing and counseling which then developed into body-centered psychotherapy and energy medicine.

Currently, her individual sessions includes a combination of noetic field counseling, energy medicine and sound healing. Sessions are done in person and long distance by phone. Sound healing seems to be a part of almost all her work now which has blossomed to include classes, workshops, gatherings and many other presentations of various aspects of sound healing.

Auriel has been teaching classes in sound healing since 2002 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Since moving to Eugene, Oregon in 2003, she has offered weekly sound healing circles at Body NOW for nine months, monthly gatherings at Mother Kali’s Bookstore in Eugene, a sound healing workshop at the Spiritual Growth Center, and several on-going classes and sound healing circles. She has been a guest sound healer on the Healing Connection with Jonathan Stemmer, community television Channel 29, and has presented at the Eugene Celebration.

As Auriel’s journey through sound healing continues to unfold, she is filled with increasing gratitude and appreciation for the gifts it brings.
